List of savings banks in Austria

The Sparkasse Rattenberg Bank AG is a Tyrolean banking company based in Rattenberg and part of the savings bank group in Austria . It was created in 1910 as a community savings bank. The Sparkasse is a member of the cooperation and liability association of the Austrian savings banks and the Austrian savings bank association .

Founding history

As early as 1858, the Ministry of the Interior suggested the establishment of a savings bank. However, this failed because of the lack of guaranteed capital and (feared) excessive administrative costs. It was not until December 1, 1909, after assumption of liability by the municipality of Rattenberg, that approval was given to found the Sparkasse of the city of Rattenberg. Business operations began on April 2, 1910.

Structural development of the main institute

From 1910 to 1922 the headquarters of the Sparkasse was in the “old town hall” (no. 34), from 1923 to 1924 in the “former schoolhouse” (no. 10) and from 1924 to 1959 in the “Gasthof Ledererbräu” (no. 59, see historical photo). 1959–1974 the "Peham-Haus" (No. 69) was rented, bought in 1974 and converted into a "Sparkassenhaus" and expanded. The Sparkasse used the rooms on the ground floor and the first floor. In 1982 the counter hall was rebuilt and parts of the neighboring house were added. In 1993 the long-term leased, adjacent "Mölgg-Haus" was incorporated into the savings bank. Since 2004, the entire second floor of the Sparkasse building has been used by the Sparkasse.
