Sparta: War of Empires is a freemium - MMO (massively multiplayer online) strategy video game by the game developer Plarium for web browsers . The game was launched in March 2014.
Storyline and gameplay
The game takes place in the era of the Persian Wars . The players are faced with the task of building their own city-state under the guidance of various leaders from Sparta . Your task is, in addition to the production and collection of resources to support their armies, to face the Persian invaders and other players, who are scattered across the entire game world, in PvE and PvP battles.
The armies of the Persian King Xerxes succeeded in conquering and destroying most of the Greek city-states and thus plunging all of Hellas into absolute chaos. Only the Spartans and their allies are able to oppose the Persian army. Under the direction of the King of Sparta, Leonidas, the player dives into the role of an archon, a figure who corresponds to the current governor of the new city-state, in order to help Sparta to defeat the Persians and free Greece from their occupation.
Sparta: War of Empires is a strategic MMO video game in which players are faced with the task of building their own city, training troops and fighting other players in PvP battles or fighting their armies in PvE battles against the AI to send. It is up to the players themselves whether they attack other players via the playing card or do business with them, or whether they even join a league and form alliances with other players.

The game features a fully edited soundtrack composed and produced by BAFTA winner Jesper Kyd . The track Hellas from the game is featured on his 2015 album Five Worlds of Plarium .
