The spastic paresis is an incomplete paralysis ( paresis ), in which, in contrast to the flaccid paralysis, a spasticity with increased muscle tone ( muscle hypertension ), increased muscle reflexes and disorders of fine motor skills .

The cause is usually damage to the 1st motor neuron (UMN).
