Speed Monster in TusenFryd ( Vinterbro , Viken , Norway ) is a steel roller coaster of the Accelerator Coaster model from the manufacturer Intamin , which was opened on April 23, 2006.
journey
On the approximately 690 m long route, immediately after the hydraulic launch, which accelerates from 0 to 90 km / h in 2.2 seconds, passengers drive through a new type of driving element, the so-called Norwegian Loop , which consists of two inversions . After a left turn and some hills, the last inversion follows - the corkscrew .
Trains
Speed Monster has two trains with three cars each. Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. This enables a maximum capacity of 700 people per hour. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.
Speed monsters in the media
The “Speed Monster” was featured in the ProSieben report Achterbahn Dynastie . The show addressed the difficulties in building the roller coaster. This documentary could also be seen under the title "The fastest job in the world - The roller coaster dynasty" on the TV channel N24 and in the N24 media library.
The construction site manager Ronny Schäfer achieved notoriety in particular through the publication of an excerpt from the documentation on the video platform YouTube , in which he is angry about the unreliability of his Norwegian work colleagues. Many of the exclamations from the site manager are circulating as running gags in many large German forums and image boards and are often used ironically.
The video has meanwhile been blocked due to a complaint from Studio71 on Youtube , the entire documentation is still available on Dailymotion.
