Forum (culture)

A forum in the general sense is a real place or a virtual ( internet forum ) space where questions are asked and answered and people can exchange ideas and opinions with one another. In cultural contexts, the word is generally understood to be a meeting and communication place - for example a “forum for science ” or a “forum for the public ”.

The term "forum" originally comes from Latin and at that time stood for a central square in Rome or other cities of the Roman Empire, which was used as a marketplace , for court processes , popular assemblies , military shows and the like (see forum (square) ).
