Smilkov (German Smilkau ) is a municipality in the Středočeský kraj region in the Czech Republic .

history

Already at the beginning of the 16th century there was a fortress of the Sádlové ze Smilkova. Later the village also belonged to the Vejhákové z Koutů, Těmínové z Těmic families, at the end of the 16th century Beřkovský ze Šebířova , from 1601 to 1697 the Lords of Talmberg. In 1701 Christoph Karl Woracziczky von Pabienitz bought the village, whose descendants Smilkov still belonged to in the 19th century. In 1870 Karl Georg Doerr (1814–1888), August von Doerr's father , acquired the Smilkov estate.

The municipality Smilkov consists of the districts Kouty ( Kaut ), Líštěnec ( Lischtienetz ), Oldřichovec ( Ullrichsgrund ), Plachova Lhota ( Plach Lhota ), Smilkov ( Smilkau ) and Zechov ( Sechov ).
