Loket is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 16 kilometers southeast of Vlašim on the D 1 motorway and belongs to the Okres Benešov .
geography
The place is located in the headwaters of the Loketský potok in the Lower Kralovice Basin on the northwest slope of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Želivkatal, flooded with the Švihov drinking water dam , extends to the northeast . On the eastern edge of the village is the exit 66 Loket of the D 1 / E 50 u. E 65 . State road 150 leads through Loket from Čechtice to Ledeč nad Sázavou , which crosses the reservoir between Brzotice and Bezděkov on a 306 m long bridge. Southeast of today's bridge was until 1974 in the Želivka valley Dolní Kralovice .
Neighboring towns are Bernartice in the north, Brzotice and Střítež in the northeast, Tomice in the southeast, Lhota Bubeneč and Alberovice in the south, Strojetice and Kačerov in the west and Němčice in the northwest.
history
The place was in the district of Queen Swatawa and its name, which corresponds to the Czech name for elbow , was derived from a sharp bend in the road. The area flowed into the chapter established by Swatawa on the Vyšehrad . The Loket belonging to the Kraloniczer benefices was first documented in 1352 in the confirmation of ownership by Charles IV . Loket was administered by canons until 1418 and in 1437 the knight Oldřich Močihub on Dolní Kralovice was given the place by Emperor Sigismund . In 1550 the St. Vitus Cathedral Chapter in Prague owned the village. The Order of Malta in Horní Kralovice acquired Loket in 1571 and held the property until the abolition of patrimonial in 1848.

The municipality of Loket consists of the districts Alberovice ( Alberowitz ), Bezděkov ( Besdiekau ), Brzotice ( Bersotitz ), Kačerov ( Katscherow ), Loket, Němčice ( Niemtschitz ), Radíkovice ( Radikowitz ) and Všebořice ( Scheborschitz ).

- Chapel on the village square, built in 1911
- Bridge on State Road 150 across the Švihov Dam. The 13 m wide and 306 m long structure has a pillar height of 65 m.
