A Romanesque rotunda was built on the path in the first half of the 12th century. At the time when the area was colonized, the village should also have been founded. There was a festival of the Újezdský family of Újezd knights. In the valley of the Třeblová brook below, another fortress was built, which belonged to the knights of Nedvězský and formed the starting point for the village of Nedvězí. Legend has it that an underground passage led from the church to the Nedvězí fortress.

At the beginning of the 14th century, the rotunda was replaced by the current church. The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1352. During the Thirty Years War the whole area was deserted by the plague.

After the abolition of patrimonial Oujezd formed with the district Větrov from 1848 a municipality in the Benešov district. In the second half of the 19th century the place name was changed to Vysoký Oujezd and since 1921 the village has been called Vysoký Újezd . During the Second World War, in 1942, Vysoký Újezd was one of the first villages that had to be evacuated for the establishment of the Beneschau SS military training area . In May 1945 the village was settled again, but only a part of the inhabitants returned. On July 1, 1974, the community was reclassified in the Okres Praha-západ . At the beginning of 1980 Vysoký Újezd lost its independence and became a district of Krňany . Since November 24, 1990, Vysoký Újezd has again formed a municipality.
