history

The first written mention of Stranný comes from the year 1184, when Jiří von Milevsko gave the place to the Prague bishop Heinrich . A short time later, Bishop Heinrich sold the village to the Milevsko Monastery . In the 15th century the village was sold and came under the rule of Tloskov, to which it belonged until the middle of the 19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial Stranný with the districts Borovka, Břevnice, Hůrka Kapinos, Mlékovice, Radslavice, Spolí, Tloskov, Zádolí and Zárybnice from 1848 formed a municipality in the Benešov district. During the Second World War, in 1942, Stranný was one of the villages that had to be evacuated for the establishment of the Beneschau SS military training area . In May 1945 the village was repopulated.

In 1961 several districts were reorganized. Tloskov came to Neveklov. Mlékovice formed a new municipality with Borovka and Radslavice; also Zádolí with Hůrka Kapinos, Spolí and Zárybnice. In 1976 Stranný lost its independence and became a district of Neveklov . Since January 1st, 1992 Stranný has again formed a municipality.
