Hans Strotzka

Hans Strotzka (born November 18, 1917 in Vienna ; † June 16, 1994 there ; full name: Johann Hugo Strotzka ) was an Austrian physician , depth psychologist , psychotherapist and university professor.

Life

He was the founding board member of the University Clinic for Depth Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna , founder of the umbrella association of Austrian Psychotherapeutic Associations and the Austrian Working Group for Group Therapy and Group Dynamics (ÖAGG) as well as a member of the WHO Expert Council for Psychiatry . From 1979 to 1989, together with Jürgen Pelikan , he headed the Ludwig-Boltzmann Institute for Medical and Health Sociology.

In 2002 the Austrian umbrella association of associations and societies for mental and social health ( pro mente austria ) launched the Hans Strotzka Prize named after him .

Hans Strotzka was buried in the Hietzinger Friedhof in Vienna in an honorary grave (group 56, number 69).
