Speedrecorder is a German alternative rock / grunge band from Saarlouis , which was founded in 2004 by singer and guitarist Dirk Vier and bassist Martin Körner.

history

After the founding in spring 2004 and the entry of drummer Andreas Braun, the first appearance at the big Rockwell Festival Saarwellingen was due in August of the same year. The self-titled debut album was recorded by the band themselves in 2005 and received greater attention in the scene, which ended in a song from the EP being on the Rocco del Schlacko sampler in 2006 and a first TV appearance in the context of the Golden Headlights in 2006 took place in the ARD, SR in the current report.

Although the band originally had the prospect of a record deal with People like you in the same year , first bassist Martin Körner left for health reasons and then Andreas Braun. Singer and guitarist Dirk Vier was facing a complete restart of the band and found new comrades in guitarist Stefan Reck and drummer Ryan Schaefer in the same year. Bassist Andy Kirsten joined in spring 2007. This was followed by appearances at the regional finals Global Battle of the Bands in Stuttgart and on the rock area . Further contributions to the sampler followed the sampler Finest Noise Vol.18 and Lieder und Gesänge Vol.1.

The first follow-up album Something to Hold Onto in the new line-up and with another man on guitar (Christian Jenal) and other guest musicians who had influences from grunge was recorded by spring 2008 and released in May. The band was signed by 1906 Records in October 2008, the CD Something to Hold Onto was re-released and the CD was distributed by Radar Cologne.

With Acoustic Resistance an acoustic album was released in 2009 with old speed recorder classics and unreleased new songs, which brought the band a live appearance on the radio station "Unser Ding". The song Still Your Friend landed on the "finest noise 23" sampler.
