St. Andrew is an underground subway station in Toronto . It lies on the Yonge-University line of the Toronto Subway , at the intersection of University Avenue and King Street . It is named after the nearby St. Andrew's Church. The station has a central platform and is used by an average of 56,120 passengers every day (2015).

Nearby are Roy Thomson Hall , the Entertainment District, Toronto Stock Exchange , Toronto-Dominion Center and First Canadian Place (Toronto's tallest building). There are transfer options to six bus routes as well as to tram routes 504 and 508. St. Andrew is also one of five stations that are connected to the PATH tunnel system.

The station opened on February 28, 1963, along with the Union - St. George section . However, it did not reach its full market value until three years later with the opening of the Bloor-Danforth Line crossing in St. George . In the first few years, the capacity utilization was lower than originally forecast. For this reason, operations were restricted, especially on weekends; it has only been continuous on the entire route since 1978.
