Special warehouse (logistics)
The special warehouse is a collective and generic term from warehouse logistics and describes warehousing - usually logistics properties - which, due to their construction or technical equipment, are suitable for storing articles and groups of goods with appropriate properties that are not or not with normal storage techniques and processes can be stored to a limited extent.
In particular, liquid, gaseous, theft-prone and perishable materials are stored in special warehouses.
Common are:
- Cold storage , storage of food
- Tank farm , reception of solid materials, also in the technical versions:
- Silos for bulk goods
Chemical and petrochemical substances in particular are often declared as dangerous goods and, in accordance with statutory provisions, may be stored separately in a dangerous goods warehouse .
