Special wheel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the German-speaking world, all types of bicycles are called special bicycles whose frame construction differs from the design of the diamond frame or women's bicycle with two wheels . Special bicycles are still bicycles whose intended purpose differs from the pure passenger transport or which have a different than the conventional crank drive with pedals . Bicycles for special sporting purposes, such as the pressroom called art bicycles , are also among the special wheels.

This differentiation from the standard bicycle affects the following types of bicycles, among others

Bike type Design feature
Recumbents with two or more wheels Design, partly the drive

Cycle rickshaws Design, partly the drive

Many of the criteria and types of bicycles overlap. The handbikes are usually designed as recumbent tricycles, transport bikes are available as two- and three-wheelers and velomobiles can also be pedelecs.
