Spiekeroog (ship, 1939)

The Spiekeroog was a passenger ferry that was used as a ferry for the island of Spiekeroog from 1939 to 1968 .

The ship

It is not known exactly when the ship was built. In 1939 the Spiekeroog was bought by the Spiekeroog bathing administration. In 1951 the ferry was rebuilt so that from then on it could take more passengers. When the Spiekeroog III was put into service, the Spiekeroog was retired and sold to the Gerdes boatyard in Varel in 1968. The whereabouts of the ship is not clear.

Predecessor ships

There have been a ship of the same name, the 1913 Spiekeroog built ferry, which from 1913 to 1917 and from 1921 to 1922 as Spiekeroog wrong and most recently as comrade was in use.
