Spillsbury is a Hamburg electro-pop band that was founded in 2001 by Zoe Meißner (vocals) and Tobias Asche (bass, synthesizer). Both previously played in the English-speaking punk band "one: thirty", which released a split 7 "with a befriended band.

Band history

The first sound carrier, a 12 "with 4 tracks, was released in June 2002. With the self-titled debut album , the band switched to the Hamburg-based record label L'age d'or . After its bankruptcy, they switched to Raboisen Records .

style

The style of the band is comparable to electro-pop / post-punk bands of the 1980s such as Sigue Sigue Sputnik , early NDW and punk . The group's private musical tastes, however, come from the rock sector. The lyrics, sung in German, address alienation and discomfort in social conditions. The failure of interpersonal (especially love) relationships is also a common issue.
