The Spindrift Col (English for Gischtsattel ) is a mountain pass on Signy Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It runs between the hills of the north-central part of the island and is 800 m southeast of the Spindrift Rocks .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 based on the name of the Spindrift Rocks. These are named after the spray that occurs in their surroundings when there is strong west wind.
