Spirit: wild and free (original title Spirit Riding Free ) is an American animated series that has been produced since 2017. The story is based on the feature film Spirit - The Wild Mustang from 2002. From 2019 there will be a new mini-series called Spirit - Wild and Free: Horse Stories ( Spirit Riding Free: Pony Tales ).

DreamWorks Animation has confirmed that the Spirit: wild and free film will hit theaters on May 14, 2021 . The correct title and plot are not yet known.

action

The free-living young stallion Spirit is captured and is to be tamed. However, twelve-year-old Lucky (also known as Fortuna Esperanza Navarro Prescott) frees him, who is also new to the village. She goes on many adventures with her two friends Pru (Prudence Granger) and Abigail (Abigail Stone), as well as their horses Chica Linda and Boomerang. For example, they prepare for races, organize a surprise party or a treasure hunt.

Fortuna "Lucky" Esperanza Navarro Prescott

Lucky is a thirteen-year-old (formerly twelve) girl who is moving from the big city to the prairies in Miradero with her father, Jim Prescott, and her aunt, Cora Prescott. There she met the stallion Spirit. Her half-sister is called Polly and Lucky loves her very much. Lucky is with the Mexican art rider Javier. It is her wish to work as a veterinarian in the future.

Spirit

Spirit is Lucky Prescott's horse. He is a wild horse and he spends the night with his herd. His parents are Spirit and Rain (from the movie 'Spirit - Der Wilde Mustang').

Prudence Granger

Prudence is very often called just Pru, as this is her nickname. She is Lucky's and Abigail's girlfriend. Her horse is called Chica Linda. One day she would like to be a horse breeder like her father, Al Granger. She is a strong, tough girl. She has stage fright at z. B. Performing, but encouragement always helps.

Abigail Stone

Abigail is Snips' big sister. Abigail is very kind and superstitious. Your horse is called Boomerang. He is very playful and naughty.

Jim Prescott

Jim is Lucky's, as well as Polly's father and the husband of Kate Flores (now Prescott). He lived in Miradero before and came back later. His work is the railroad.

Maricela

Maricela is a conceited girl who cares a lot about beauty, demeanor and personal hygiene. She is enemies with Pru. She is in love with Turo but doesn't know how to show her feelings.

Turo

Turo is the stable boy. He is in love with Maricela but cannot show his feelings. He bought his horse 'Wachholder' from Harlan Grayson.

Javier

Javier is a Mexican art and rodeo rider. He's with Lucky. His horse is called 'desert flower'.

Milagro Navarro

Milagro is Lucky's late mother. She left her hometown during her lifetime due to an impending forced marriage on her 16th birthday. She fled to the "Circo Dos Grillos" circus and then became a horse rider because she was very good at tricks.

Al Granger

Al is Pru's father and a good friend of Jim's. He is a horse breeder and owns the paddock and stable in Miradero.

Bianca and Mary Pat

The twins Bianca and Mary Pat are inseparable. Bianca wears blue boots, Mary Pat brown ones. Bianca is in love with Snips Stone, which Mary Pat cannot understand.

Harlan Grayson

Harlan Grayson, often just called "Grayson", lives alone on a finca near Miradero. He is heartless and mean. He is very snooty towards Lucky, Pru and Abigail. His horse is called Xerxes. Grayson's father was a judge and was killed by Bill LePray.

Bill LePray

Bill is a criminal in the wild west to Mexico. It steals, cheats and kills. During an escape, she shot and killed Judge Grayson, Harlen Grayson's father. Since Lucky has revealed her identity, Bill takes revenge by kidnapping Jim during his wedding.

Production and publication

The series has been produced by DreamWorks Animation in the United States since 2017 . Eight seasons with 52 episodes were created.

The German premiere took place on September 9, 2017 on Super RTL . Further repetitions were also carried out on Toggo plus . In addition, CDs , DVDs and more were released on the series. All episodes are published on YouTube.
