The Splinter ( English ; Polish Odlupek ; each for splinters ) is a rocky outcrop on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises above the Gniezno Glacier in the Mount Hopeful massif .

Polish scholars named it descriptively in 1981.
