(FH) ), a Bachelor of Arts (abbr. BA ), Bachelor of Science (abbr. B.Sc. ), Bachelor of Education (abbr. B.Ed. ) or Bachelor of Laws (abbr. LL .B. ) As well as a Master of Arts (abbr. The doctor of general medicine ( Dr. med. Univ. ) And the doctor of dentistry (Dr. med. Dent.) Are awarded by sponsorship. requirements

Requirements for graduation are the successful completion of a bachelor's , diploma , master's or master's degree at a university or college with the diploma examination and the writing of a bachelor's, master's, master's or diploma thesis . The title is awarded by a certificate of graduation issued by the rector or the vice rector responsible for teaching at the university . Usually, the degree certificate is presented in a festive setting as part of an academic celebration. The formal questions regarding graduation are regulated in the Austrian Universities Act 2002 (in particular § 87).

"Spondeo"

The term comes from the Latin word sponsio ( promise ). In an academic celebration, the graduates voluntarily promise to always behave as the academic training requires; in the wording spondeo or I promise . "We promise to serve science, to promote its goals and thus to contribute responsibly to the solution of the problems of human society and its prosperous further development as well as to remain connected to the university." (Pledge at the University of Salzburg)
