The sports-oriented elementary school is located in the Spremberger Vorstadt district of Cottbus .

history

It was founded in 1966 as the 16th polytechnic high school and began offering sports orientation from the 1st grade in 2003.

In 2007, with the support of the Brandenburg Ministry of Education, the school received around 770,000 euros as debt service aid from the federal all-day program “Federal Investment Program Future, Education and Care” for a full-day-specific renovation, which lasted from May 26, 2008 to September 25, 2009. The former upper school center was rebuilt and expanded, the old school building dismantled and a new sports field designed. The completed school was opened by Education Minister Holger Rupprecht .

Funds from the state's urban development funding were also made available as part of the “ Urban Redevelopment East ” program.

particularities

The focus of the educational work is physical education .

The sports classes have training three days a week from 7.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m., which is why general lessons do not begin until 9.30 a.m.
