The Sportbund Pfalz eV is the umbrella organization of sport in the Palatinate . It was founded in 1949 and is based in Kaiserslautern . The Sportbund Pfalz has over 2100 member clubs and 56 member associations. There are around 535,000 registered members in the associations. The main task of the umbrella organization is to be the service provider for organized sport.

Promotion of voluntary work, education and training

Volunteers and part-time employees are important pillars of the Palatinate club culture. Your qualifications and the financial support of the clubs for the use of licensed trainers is of central importance for the Palatinate Sports Association. Every year the umbrella organization trains over 5000 instructors and club employees in sports practice and administration. In this way he supports the work of the clubs and professional associations on site. The proximity of the sports federation to clubs and associations is to be emphasized as a special plus point due to the regional orientation.

Popular and recreational sports

The Palatinate Sports Association wants to get people excited about sport in sports clubs through initiatives, events and campaigns. The association therefore promotes the German sports badge , popular sports events and game festivals, health awareness , events in leisure and trend sports as well as senior and family sports in clubs. Special support for clubs in top-class sport is essentially the responsibility of the professional associations and the State Sports Association of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Construction, renovation and modernization of sports facilities

Modern and environmentally friendly sports facilities are an essential part of doing sports. Around 1,200 sports clubs in the Palatinate have their own sports facilities. It is an important task to support these clubs financially, partly with the support of the state, the municipalities and the State Sports Association of Rhineland-Palatinate, and to provide extensive advice on sports facility management. Member clubs and professional associations receive extensive insurance cover from the Palatinate Sports Association. The aim of the sports association is to promote and strengthen the Palatinate as a whole. He also works with well-known companies on the sponsorship level. In addition, the Palatinate Sports Association seeks partnership-based cooperation with sports organizations outside of the Palatinate and, together with the Rheinhessen and Rhineland sports associations, forms the Rhineland-Palatinate State Sports Association .

Sports youth Palatinate

The Palatinate Sports Association is particularly dedicated to children's and youth sports. These tasks are taken on independently by the Palatinate Sports Youth, the youth organization of the sports association. The Palatinate Sports Youth supports over 210,000 children and young people in sports clubs. It makes an important contribution to the extracurricular youth education and, as a recognized provider of free youth welfare, supports the personal development of young people. Self-determination and social responsibility are in the foreground. The Palatinate Sports Youth campaigns for greater recognition of general youth work by sports clubs and associations.
