Sportfreunde Holthausen was a sports club from Plettenberg - Holthausen in the Märkisches Kreis . The first soccer team played a year in the highest Westphalian amateur league.
history
On March 1, 1889, the gymnastics club Westfalia Holthausen was founded, which in 1934 founded a football department. In early 1938 the club merged with the Elsetal Bremke gymnastics club to form TuS Elsetal Holthausen . On April 24, 1949, the football department split off as Sportfreunde Holthausen. Two years later, he was promoted to the district class. After a runner-up in 1953 behind SV Hemer 08 , they were promoted to the state league a year later , which was the highest amateur league in Westphalia at the time.
After only one year, the Sportfreunde rose again from bottom of the table . The low point of the season was a 2:10 home defeat against Sportfreunde Siegen . In 1957 the people of Holthausen were relegated to the district class and only continued to play at the local level. On June 30, 1971, the Sportfreunde merged with their parent club TuS Elsetal Holthausen to form TuS Elsetal . This in turn merged on July 1, 1992 with Sportfreunde Oestertal , Rot-Weiß Lennetal and Spvg Plettenberg to form SC Plettenberg .
