history

The football team of the club took in the season 1911/12 imported Gau Elbe / Elster first time in the central German championship VMBV part. With 4: 8 points, the team placed fourth in the table at the end of the season. With 11: 1 points, he won the Gaumeister title for the first time after the 1913/14 season . In the first round of the championship finals, however, they failed 11-1 at FC Wacker Halle . After the outbreak of the First World War , gaming operations came to a standstill for the time being. Nothing is known anymore about the league membership, as far as Torgau had played games at all. However, it is known that the Torgauer failed in playoffs for promotion to the district league after the 1919/20 season at FC Britannia Leipzig in 1899 .

For the 1923/24 season the Gau Elbe / Elster was first class again, but with 3: 9 points, the sports fans had to relegate again at the end of the season. The 1925/26 season could then even be concluded as the master of the Elbe relay team with the resurgence. Before that, a playoff for first place with the equal points SV Vorwärts Falkenberg was necessary, which was won 2: 1. In the Gaufinale, however, Torgau was defeated by VfB Hohenleipisch 6: 5 after the return leg , but in qualifying for second place the team was able to prevail against Eintracht Bockwitz 4: 3 afterwards. Thus, the team was allowed to participate in the final round of the championship via the round of second. There the team lost again in the first round. This time with a 0:11 defeat against VfB Preußen Greppin in 1911 .

The club then played in the Central German championship until the 1932/33 season, but never again took part in the championship finals. After the National Socialists came to power , the club only plays in the lower classes. After the end of the Second World War , the association was also dissolved.
