Sports hygiene

The sports hygiene includes working principles and methods of general hygiene in the field of sport. This applies both to the aspects of the general lifestyle of those doing sports with regard to personal hygiene ( personal hygiene , nutrition , sportswear, infection prophylaxis including vaccination protection ) and the hygienic problems of sports facilities, sports equipment and the supervision of sports events.

Under Sport hygiene and hygiene of physical exercises one understood until the early 20th century, the entire spectrum of modern sports medicine . Sports hygiene has been differentiated since the 1930s and today it represents a sub-area in the canon of tasks in sports medicine. It influences the conditions and interrelationships between sports, nature and society.
