Sprachlabor is a German hip-hop band from Stuttgart . The group sees itself as an alternative to the popular, aggressive battlerap.
history
The group was founded in 1997. It consists of the band members Beatmac (producer), Mikkanic (rap / vocals) and Tier Mobilux (rap / vocals). At the end of 1998 the group released their first recording under the title Sprachlabor - Demo . The first EP with the title Rapscheiss , which they released on their own responsibility, followed in 2000. The EP, Eine neue Hoffnung , published in 2002, was also released by the band members on their own.
Language laboratory was u. a. Tour support for Blumentopf and the Spezializtz as well as supporting act for the British band New Model Army . They also opened the first “ Hip Hop Open ” in Stuttgart in 2000 and played at events such as “Beats 4 Life” and “Mixery Raw Deluxe”.
The debut album Richtig was released in 2008 by Four Music , the group was assisted in the recording of studio musicians. The intro calls the album in issue 157 a "great entry into the fresh German hip-hop year" and speaks of "polished rhymes, the pubescent gangsta babble or vulgar porno babble are far to the right" . Rap.de criticizes the lack of innovations and the unimportant, clichéd texts, but also mentions Beatmac's "poppy, catchy, groovy beats" just like the intro.
