Sprayhood

As sprayhood ( Engl. For spray hood) a semi-soft top is of yachts called.

It consists of cloth, often acrylic fiber or polyester coated on one side with acrylate or PU, into which plastic windows made of PVC film are sewn, stretched by a variable and often foldable semicircular construction made of stainless steel or aluminum tubes, usually fastened with movable special fittings. It protects the companionway and the front part of the cockpit from rain and splash water in the wind from the side and front.

Occasionally it is extended to a bimini or cake stand .
