The Springhorstsee is a quarry pond in the Lower Saxon town of Burgwedel in the Hanover region .
The lake is located northwest of Grossburgwedel on the edge of one of farmland surrounded campsite within the conservation area, " Forest Round Horn -Fuhrberg". It was created in 1959/60 when the Federal Motorway 7 was being built .
The lake is surrounded by trees and bushes as well as grassy areas and is used as a bathing lake . There is a 50 meter wide sandy beach on the south bank.
The lake has been managed since 1970. Sanitary facilities are available. To the south of the lake there is a hotel complex with restaurants . The lake is used as a fishing lake by a local fishing club.
