The Springtail track (English for Springtail spur is) a 170 m high ridge with an east-west orientation on Signy Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It rises at the southwestern end of the Andreaea plateau .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1991 after the arthropods from the springtail class ( Latin Collembola ) found here under stones and in the sparse vegetation by the British Antarctic Survey .
