Sproing Interactive Media , or Sproing for short , was an Austrian developer for computer and video games. It was founded in 2001 by Harald Riegler and Gerhard Seiler. The company was based in Vienna , Austria.
Sproing published over 60 titles of varying sizes. The company made games for various platforms such as Wii , Xbox 360 , Playstation 3 , PC , PlayStation 2 , Xbox , Nintendo DS , Apple iOS , PlayStation and the Gameboy Advance . The Panzer Tactics DS , released in 2008, was awarded the German Developer Prize in the Best German Console Game category. From 2011, the company had focused on mobile free-2-play titles and published a commercially successful game, Skyrama. In 2016, the developer and Bandai Namco implemented Asterix & Friends on mobile devices (iOS, Android).
The team consisted of more than 100 employees (2016).
The company was a member of the GAME Federation of the German Games Industry .
On November 25, 2016, the company had to file for bankruptcy, but was to be restructured. The company's liabilities at the time amounted to 2.8 million euros. After the restructuring process was lifted in spring 2017 without self-administration, the company again declared bankruptcy in December 2017.
After the bankruptcy, Harald Riegler founded a new game development company, Purple Lamp Game Development GmbH, with the help of Investor More Space GmbH . This took over around 30 employees and some assets from Sproing at the beginning of 2018.
