Großwilsdorf is a district of the city of Naumburg in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Großwilsdorf is located west of the Unstrutan Heights near Kleinjena on an elevated floor in the surrounding area. Naumburg and the Saaleniederung are then to the south-east . The district road connects with the federal highway 180 coming from Querfurt to Naumburg. The district is close to the wine and fruit growing areas around Naumburg and Freyburg . The location borders on the Dead Täler nature reserve, known for its orchid populations .

history

The village was first mentioned on January 29, 1279. Until 1815 the place belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the county Querfurt in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

In 1897, by decree of the Prussian King, Groß- and Kleinwilsdorf and Raufendorf were united to form a rural community called "Großwilsdorf".

On July 1, 1961, the place was incorporated into Kleinjena . On June 1, 1994, Kleinjena and Großwilsdorf were incorporated into Naumburg. In 2012, 133 people lived in the district.
