Kukulau is a district of Bad Kösen , a district of the city of Naumburg (Saale) in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

Kukulau is located south of the city of Bad Kösen above the slopes of the Saale on the first floor of the arable farming area around Prießnitz and Flemmingen . A local connecting road connects to the federal highway 88 . The village is located in the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland nature park .

history

On January 6, 1153 Kukulau was first mentioned in a document. The place gradually came into the possession of the Pforta monastery in the 12th century . As monastic Vorwerk Kukulau belonged to the secularization of the monastery in 1540 from 1543 to 1815 for Saxon Office Pforta . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna the place to Prussia came only in 1816 the district Naumburg in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

In January 2010 the village was incorporated into Naumburg with Bad Kösen . In 2012 58 people lived in the village.
