history

Meyhen was first mentioned in a document in 1350. This was probably preceded by the construction of a castle-like property in the 12th century. In the 14th century the estate lost its economic importance and urban development began.

The village was expanded extensively in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1819 Meyhen had about 200 inhabitants and consisted of 36 farmsteads. Since the area changed strongly towards agriculture, numerous stables and large halls were built in Meyen. A structural change took place again from 1990 onwards and from now on the buildings formerly used for agriculture are home to newly founded craft businesses. In 1991 Meyhen, which from July 1, 1950 until then belonged to the independent municipality of Wettaburg , was incorporated together with Wettaburg into the city of Naumburg.
