Schieben is a district of Bad Kösen , a district of the city of Naumburg (Saale) in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .
location
Schieben is a place east of the Saale and the border between Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. The district lies on one floor of the hall lowlands, bounded by heights of the hall slopes. Then the transition to the most loosened arable sites of the Molauer -Platte begins . The district road 2637 connects the place with the surrounding area.
history
Schieben was first mentioned in a document in 1330. Originally the village consisted only of what is now the middle village. Today's lower village is most likely the rest of the Weincke village . The upper village emerged at the end of the 18th century with the construction of the Vorwerk. On October 17, 1794, the legendary host of the Rudelsburg, Gottlieb Wagner, was born in Schieben .
The manor was located in the middle of the village and was subject to frequent changes of ownership. The feudal lords were originally the bishops of Naumburg and the margraves of Meissen, later the dukes of Saxony, who emerged from the margraves, exercised feudal sovereignty. The manor has been leased since the 18th century and sold at the end of the century.
There was probably once a castle to the south of the village, as indicated by unevenness in the terrain that cannot be traced back to natural causes, as well as clay finds and the field name "Castle".
The place Schieben has belonged to the Wettin Office of Camburg since the 14th century , which was under the sovereignty of various Albertine and Ernestine duchies due to several divisions in the course of its existence . In 1826, the place came as part of the Camburg exclave from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen . In 1920 Schieben came to the state of Thuringia. From 1922 to 1939 the place belonged to the Camburg district department , then to the Thuringian district of Stadtroda until 1948 , then briefly to the district of Jena .
During the territorial reform of 1952 in the GDR , the place came to the Naumburg district in the Halle district , whereby its affiliation to Thuringia ended. On January 1, 1993 the place was incorporated in Bad Kösen and in January 2010 in Naumburg. In 2012 there were 75 people living in the village.
At the bottom of the village was the ferry house, whose residents had to ensure the ferry service across the Saale. Later the house was converted into an inn "Zum Blauen Hecht".
Others
As a result of severe drought, the spring on the outskirts dried up for a few days in the summer of 1912. During the tour, a stalactite cave was discovered inside the mountain, in which there is also a small lake.
