Neuflemmingen is a district of the city of Naumburg (Saale) in the Burgenland district (Saxony-Anhalt). The place has 30 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2003). The district Neujanisroda belonged to the place from 1948 to 1992 .

location

Neuflemmingen is located south of Naumburg at the beginning of the Zeitzer-Altenburger-Lösshügelland , an offshoot of the Leipzig lowland bay . The former district of Neujanisroda is separated from Neuflemmingen by federal highway 88 .

history

The place was founded in the early 18th century. The village of Neuflemmingen was first mentioned in a document in 1704. 1705 bought George Härtig, a raft masters from Bad Koesen the country on the day the place is, built some houses and then set up the site. Härtig later bought more pieces of land and expanded the place. At that time, Neuflemmingen was the state border between the Electorate of Saxony (from 1806 Kingdom of Saxony ( Amt Pforta )) and the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (northern part of the Eisenberg district office with Janisroda and Heiligenkreuz).

As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , Neuflemmingen came to Prussia with the office of Pforta and in 1816 was assigned to the district of Naumburg in the administrative district of Merseburg of the province of Saxony . In 1820 the place had about 40 inhabitants. In the same year the construction of a customs house began. Later, with the establishment of the German Empire in 1871 and the abolition of internal German customs clearance, the building had become obsolete and was demolished. The Prussian Neuflemmingen bordered the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg until 1826, then on the Camburg exclave of the Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen .

Around 1846, the then inn owner Heinrich Oettler planned to build a new windmill in the Dutch style. It was built on the site of an existing post mill and demolished again in 1919. In 1913, Crown Prince Wilhelm returned to the local restaurant. Since 1920 Neuflemmingen was on the Prussian-Thuringian border.

After the purchase of larger areas of land, the planning of a manor house began under the direction of the architect August Pfisterer in 1924 . This should be ready for occupancy three years later, but it was not completed due to a lack of funds. After the end of the Second World War , the house was demolished in 1946 for the extraction of building materials. The land belonging to it was divided up during the land reform. The new farmer's settlement Neujanisroda, first mentioned in 1948, was built on the expropriated land .

In April 1992 Neuflemmingen was incorporated into Naumburg. Neujanisroda, however, came to Janisroda , with whom it was incorporated into Naumburg on January 1, 2010.

traffic

The federal highway 88 leading through the town was one of the most important trade routes in the past and led from Leipzig to Nuremberg .
