The Naumburg district was a district in the Halle district of the GDR . From 1990 to 1994 it existed as the Naumburg district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt . Today his area belongs to the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt. The seat of the district administration was in Naumburg .

geography

The Naumburg district bordered clockwise in the north, beginning with the districts of Nebra , Weißenfels , Hohenmölsen , Zeitz , Eisenberg , Jena-Land , Apolda and Sömmerda .

history

Historical predecessor

Between 1818 and 1932 there was a Prussian district of Naumburg in the administrative district of Merseburg , it went up in the district of Weißenfels (for its history, see there ).

In 1944 the designated area became part of the newly created province of Halle-Merseburg instead of the administrative district . After the Second World War, the area formed part of Saxony-Anhalt , and between 1952 and 1990 it was part of the Halle district .

Creation and renaming

On July 25, 1952, the Kölleda district was dissolved , which shortly before had to give up its historical name Eckartsberga district . Its area was divided into the newly formed districts of Artern , Naumburg, Nebra (all Halle district) and Sömmerda (to the Erfurt district ).

The Naumburg district was thus formed from parts of the territory of the following predecessors in addition to parts of the Kölleda district and the Eckartsberga district :

On May 17, 1990, the district was renamed the Naumburg district. In October 1990 the Halle district and the GDR were dissolved. The district of Naumburg has now become a district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

End of existence

On July 1, 1994, the Naumburg district, together with the Nebra and Zeitz districts, became part of the newly founded Burgenland district . The seat of this district, which existed until July 1, 2007, was also Naumburg (Saale). On July 1, 2007, the Burgenland district was merged with the Weißenfels district . The name Burgenlandkreis and the seat of Naumburg (Saale) were retained.

cities and communes

In 1957 the following cities and communities belonged to the Naumburg district:
