Mollschütz is a district of the municipality of Molauer Land in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Mollschütz lies between Jena and Naumburg (Saale) on the state border with Thuringia . The place is about 12 kilometers southwest of Naumburg between the Saale and the federal highway 88 .

history

Mollschütz was first mentioned in a document in 1378. From 1652 Mollschütz belonged as an exclave to the Electoral Saxon Office of Tautenburg , which arose from the possession of the Tautenburg Schenken and fell to the Electorate of Saxony in 1640 after the death of Christian Schenk von Tautenburg. Moll contactor was surrounded by Ernestine Office Camburg and the Saxon Office Naumburg associated exclave Abtlöbnitz .

In contrast to most of the Tautenburg district, which was ceded to the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach by the Congress of Vienna in 1815 , Mollschütz came to the Prussian district of Naumburg in the province of Saxony with four other Tautenburg exclave locations . Since the place was surrounded by the neighboring town of Abtlöbnitz, which also fell to Prussia, by the Ernestine Office of Camburg and the Thuringian district department of Camburg , it continued to form an exclave until the Prussian province of Saxony was dissolved in 1944/45.

On January 1, 1957, the previously independent community of Mollschütz was incorporated into Altlöbnitz. As a result of the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Abtlöbnitz, Casekirchen , Leislau and Molau to form the new municipality of Molauer Land , Mollschütz has been one of eleven districts of this municipality since January 1, 2010.
