Kranz Library
The Kranz-Bücherei is a German booklet series that appeared from the 1920s to the 1970s.
The series of booklets was initially published from the 1920s to 1940s by the youth literature committee of the teachers' association , namely Otto Metzker , Frankfurt am Main, and was published by Moritz Diesterweg Verlag, Frankfurt am Main. The booklets of this older series each had about 30 pages in the format 19.5 × 13.5 cm.
The series had to be discontinued in the 1940s and appeared again from the 1950s to the 1970s. The count began again with number 1. The newer booklets appeared under the motto “Class reading material for elementary school” They were a little larger in size of 21 × 15 cm and had a cardboard cover and usually had between 30 and 40 pages. As school reading material, they contained a note stating from which school year the content was to be used.
