Irmgard from Faber du Faur
Irmgard von Faber du Faur (later name: Irmgard Mannheimer , born July 4, 1894 in Munich , † January 23, 1955 in Zurich ) was a German writer .
Life
Irmgard von Faber du Faur is a daughter of Hans von Faber du Faur and, through her mother Sophie von Ranke (1864–1917), a granddaughter of Heinrich Ranke . Her twin sister is the painter Armgard from Faber du Faur . She grew up in Munich and Paris . She completed teacher training in Geneva , Zurich and Berlin and then worked as a teacher and educator in rural school homes . She worked for the children's hour of the Munich and Berlin radio and wrote articles for children's magazines . In 1930 she married the theologian Franz Mannheimer . After the National Socialist seizure of power in 1933 , the couple emigrated to Switzerland ; from 1936 it lived in Rüschlikon near Zurich.
Irmgard von Faber du Faur's literary work includes short stories , fairy tales , plays and radio plays ; She also collected children's verses , which she published in 1951 in the anthology "Kinderreime der Welt".
