history
Leislau was first mentioned in 1190 in a document from the Pforta monastery . The first manor was built in 1384. Around 1674, an inn and a bar house are mentioned in Leislau, where beer was also brewed. Waid has been grown in the village since the 15th century .
Leislau belonged to the Wettin office of Camburg , which was under the sovereignty of various Ernestine duchies due to several divisions in the course of its existence . In 1826, the place came as part of the Camburg exclave from the Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg to the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen . From 1922 to 1939 the place belonged to the Camburg district department . Until 1952 Leislau belonged to Thuringia . Due to the territorial reform of 1952 in the GDR , the place came from the dissolved Jena district to the Naumburg district in the Halle district , whereby its affiliation to Thuringia ceased.
On July 1, 1961 Crauschwitz was incorporated into Leislau with Kleingestewitz . On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipalities of Leislau, Casekirchen , Abtlöbnitz and Molau merged to form the new municipality of Molauer Land.
