Löbitz is a district of the municipality of Mertendorf in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Geographical location
Löbitz is located about ten kilometers southeast of Naumburg (Saale) in the Wethau valley . Großgestewitz and package were designated as districts of the former municipality .
history
The place Löbitz was first mentioned in 1237 as Lawitz .
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community package was incorporated.
On January 1, 2010, the communities of Löbitz and Görschen merged with the community of Mertendorf to form the new community of Mertendorf. One day earlier, Utenbach was incorporated into Löbitz.

Löbitz is part of the Central German Transport Association . The bus line 618 Naumburg (Saale) - Mertendorf - Osterfeld of the passenger transport company Burgenlandkreis runs through Löbitz . The nearest train stations are Mertendorf and Stoß on the Naumburg – Teuchern railway line .
The federal highway 180 (Naumburg-Zeitz) runs about five kilometers northeast of Löbitz. The next motorway junction is Naumburg on federal motorway 9 , about seven kilometers to the east.
