Wetterscheidt is a district of the municipality Mertendorf in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Wetterscheidt is located southwest of Mertendorf at the confluence of the Neidschützer Bach in the Wethau .

history

In the 17th century, Wetterscheidt belonged to the free float of the von Tautenburg taverns in the administrative district of Weißenfels . After the death of Christian Schenk von Tautenburg, the place belonged from 1640/52 as an exclave to the Electoral Saxon Office of Tautenburg . With the Congress of Vienna in 1815 Wetterscheidt came to the Prussian district of Naumburg in the province of Saxony .

The exact date of incorporation of the place after Mertendorf is unknown, but it happened before 1950. Since the merger of the municipalities of Görschen and Löbitz with the municipality of Mertendorf on January 1, 2010, Wetterscheidt is part of the new municipality of Mertendorf.
