Droitzen is a district of the municipality Mertendorf in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Droitzen is about eight kilometers southeast of Naumburg (Saale) and west of Görschen.
history
Droitzen was first mentioned in 1144. A hoof of the place was donated to the Pforta monastery in the 12th century . The street village later belonged to the Albertine Electorate of Saxony . In 1620, Elector Johann Georg I enfeoffed Christian Schenk von Tautenburg with goods in Görschen and Droitzen in the office of Weißenfels . After the death of Christian Schenk von Tautenburg, both places belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office of Tautenburg as exclaves from 1640/52 . With the Congress of Vienna in 1815 Droitzen came to the Prussian district of Naumburg in the province of Saxony .
The date of incorporation of Droitzen into Görschen is unknown. Since the merger of the municipalities of Görschen and Löbitz with the municipality of Mertendorf on January 1, 2010, Droitzen has been part of the new municipality of Mertendorf.
