history

Saint Peter's Church

A Spangenhelm from the Merovingian period was found in Stoß, which indicates an important position of the place in a very early period. Stoß was first mentioned in 968. In the same year the place came to the diocese of Zeitz . In 1088 the place was destroyed by Wiprecht von Groitzsch . In 1287, Stoß was mentioned in a document as "oppidum stosene" (Eng . City of Stoß ). In 1578 the reconstruction of the church tower, which collapsed in 1573, began. In 1598 the plague broke out in bumps; 47 people died of the disease within four months. In 1607 the largest of the three Stößner church bells was cast. In 1608 the plague raged again in the village. Weekly and annual markets are documented in 1617. During the Thirty Years' War Stoß was set on fire by imperial troops in 1637. In 1737 a fire caused by arson destroyed a large part of the village. In 1817 the connecting road Naumburg - Zeitz was fortified for the first time. In 1837 Stlocken had 130 houses and 840 residents. In 1858 the foundation stone for the sugar factory was laid. In 1907 Stoß had 1263 inhabitants, at the end of the 1930s 1366 inhabitants and belonged to the Weißenfels district in the Prussian province of Saxony . On November 2, 1947, the bronze church bells were rededicated, which were removed for armament purposes during World War II , but were never melted down.

History of Nöbeditz

Nöbeditz was first mentioned in 1266 as Nabdicz , in 1290 as Nobeditz and in 1300 as Nibditz . The origin of the place name is probably a Slavic personal name. Another interpretation explains the name with where you cannot spy out . The village consisted of a manor and five other houses. The manor district of Nöbeditz was dissolved in 1929. With this the place was incorporated after Stoß.

History Priestädt

Priestädt was mentioned in 1300 as Bristete and in 1378 as Brystete . The name was derived from the Middle High German word Bri , which means porridge or swamp. Before its incorporation, Priestädt was an independent rural community and belonged to the parish of Gröbitz, where the responsible registry office was also located. The Nautschketal begins in Priestädt.
