coat of arms
The coat of arms and the flag were approved by the Burgenlandkreis on June 1st, 2015.
Blazon : "In red with a right golden flank, in it a pointed red tower tapered from the middle with a golden archway as well as three golden arched and two square windows (3: 1: 1), one made of a golden grape with 16 berries, Leaves and tendrils growing golden cross with clover leaf ends. "
The coat of arms was designed by the municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch . Its symbolism shows the tower of the Haynsburg, which can be seen from afar, and the representation of the grapes indicates the centuries of viticulture. The 16 berries of the grape refer to the 16 districts of the municipality using a number symbolism. The cross growing from the grape alludes to the so-called weather cross, a stone cross that is located under a linden tree exactly at the junction to Katersobersdorf on the way between Haynsburg and Dietendorf. In earlier times the Höhenweg from Zeitz to Gera ran along here. At the highest point of the path (251.5 m) there was originally a wooden cross. A stone cross placed on Reformation Day in 1831 was destroyed in 1868. The cross, which still exists today, was erected in 1897. It was made by master stonemason Bernhard Topschall from Zeitz.
The colors of the parish are red - yellow.
flag
Flag description: "The flag of the Wetterzeube municipality is striped red - yellow - red (horizontal shape: stripes 1: 4: 1 running horizontally, lengthways shape: stripes 1: 3: 1 running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms."
