The Wörgl Jump Center is a ski jumping facility in Wörgl , Tyrol .

history

A jumping hill had been operated at Hennersberg near Wörgl since 1909 , which was replaced by a ski jumping hill in 1932 . The ski jump, the construction of which was supported by the municipality of Wörgl with 500 work shifts as part of the Schwundgelexperiment - a job creation program against unemployment in Wörgl - was inaugurated on February 19, 1933 with an opening event.

After structural improvements for the Austrian Nordic Ski Championships in 1959, the facility was converted into a K83 ski jump in 1974/75. In 1982/83 a 50 m and a 30 m hill was built, and since 1992 the entire facility has been able to be artificially snowed .

In 2006, a modernization of the facility began, which, in addition to expanding the K83 hill into a K90 hill, equips all five ski jumps (in addition to the K90, K50 and K35 ski jump, also the two smaller K20 and K10 hills) Jumps) with mats for summer operation and should be completed by 2008. Heavy rain at the beginning of September 2007 washed away the landing hill of the K90 ski jump, so that by the end of 2007 only the conversion of the three small ski jumps could be completed. After that, members of the ski club and voluntary helpers worked on the landing hill of the K90 hill every weekend. The inauguration of the three small plastic covered hills took place on August 24, 2008.

For January 26th, 2008, a competition was scheduled on the K90 hill as part of the Women's Ski Jumping Continental Cup 2007/08 , but it had to be canceled.
