Squid Jig

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A squid jig ( English : squid = squid , jig = jerky or plucking guided artificial bait; plural : squid jigs ) is an artificial bait for catching squids and cuttlefish . They are used on fishing rods, hand lines and - in professional fishing - on jigging machines. The jig resembles a prey fish and is brightly colored to attract the squid's attention.

Instead of fishhooks , squid jigs are usually provided with double wreaths made up of numerous backward-bent needles, on which the squid hook their tentacles.
