history

Originally the evening grammar school was created for women and men who, due to the war and post-war years, did not have the opportunity to obtain their Abitur. The school has existed in its current form since 1961. Today, the evening grammar school offers all working people the opportunity to secure a higher school diploma free of charge and to catch up on their Abitur.

Since the 2014/15 school year, so-called online lessons have been offered as part of a school trial for “five-day classes”. As in a five-day class, the students attend the evening grammar school four times a week from 5:55 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. On the fifth day, the class can be followed from home via a video session.
