from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stöckl Mainersberg was a noble residence in Graz . It was located a little above Algersdorf Castle , on the slopes of the Plabutsch . Its history dates back to the 12th century.

description

As Stoeckl small mansion-like structures are referred to with only one floor.

From the 12th century there is evidence of a vineyard house that later stood on the grounds of the Stöckl. The Stöckl and a press were built around 1588. A vineyard also belonged to the property.

history

The building was first mentioned in the 12th century as a vineyard house. In the 16th century the property was owned by Ruprecht Pichler. His daughter sold it to Martin Messmaier before 1588, who built a Stöckl and a press on the property. In the following time the Stöckl fell into disrepair and was rebuilt in 1660 by the princely Eggenberg administrator Gmeiner. In 1668 he received the sovereign permission to call the Stöckl Mainersberg and himself von Mainersberg .

After Mainersberg's death, the Stöckl went to the Rechbach family, who sold it to Seifried Portner in 1684. In the following time there were frequent changes of owners. When exactly the Stöckl was removed is unknown.
