St-Author

The Roman Catholic Church Saint-Auteur located in Rezonville in Arrondissement Metz in the department of Moselle in France .

history

The Church of St-Auteur is a typical choir tower church for the area around Gorze Abbey . In Rezonville itself, however, the Metz Cathedral Chapter and the Abbey of Sankt Arnulf were also well-off when the church was built .

The choir tower with adjoining semicircular apse dates from the 13th century. The apse itself is surrounded by buttresses. The tower was raised as part of the rebuilding of the nave in the 19th century. In the west, the church received a representative neo-Romanesque facade with rose windows and a portal with a tympanum .
